MSPA Fundraiser: Success & Thanks!

SUCCESS!  We had 102 attendees and raised $819 at our April 2 fundraiser at Bruegger’s Bagel’s, despite the very cold, rainy day which was a deterrent for many people to leave their cozy homes on a Saturday afternoon.  Many thanks are in order . . .  THANK YOU to:

  • The diners – you, the JGMS and Bedford parent community for attending the MSPA fundraiser.  We hope you loved the Jamba Juice and new menu items.
  • Annie, Molly and Miss Hannigan for appearing at our fundraiser. IMG_2109It was a real treat to see them and hear them sing.  What a terrific preview of the JGMS musical that begins this week.  We hope it will be standing room only to watch the shows on April 7, 8, and 9!
  • The Annie, Jr.  parents Lariza Panagiotou and Emily Mitchell, plus MSPA board members Diane Bernstein, Kerry Rackey, Paula Gilarde, and Karen Guetersloh, all of whom were at the event to work.  Our success is due to your efforts in putting in man hours at events like this.  We appreciate you very much.
  • Last, but not least, Bruegger’s Bagels and Jamba Juice for allowing us to host the fundraiser.  You’ve got a great new store and wonderful staff.

THANK YOU, EVERYONE!  ~ MSPA Board of Directors

Thank You Fall Appeal Donors

With the school budget tight and the needs great in and around JGMS, donations go a long way in supporting the school, staff, and children. In October 2015, we were able to buy a much-needed 3-D printer and its supplies for the Technical Education Department.  The MSPA is working with the school administration to identify a “punch list” of other needed items so we can help fund some, and hopefully all, if we collect enough funds to do so.

The school very much appreciates the donations and support, as does the MSPA which is very mindful about spending the donations wisely and in support of our mission of supporting JGMS, its staff, and students.

A heartfelt thanks to donation levelsthe JGMS parents who have donated in support of the MSPA so far this 2015 – 2016 school year:

cover directory no grade

Congratulations to 8th grader Seonyu (Sunny) H. who has won the Student Directory Art Contest. Her display of the Bedford Buccaneer, sports, music, and art icons, as well as hands of diverse skin colors reflecting “friendship forever” captures the essence of JGMS.  Her design is featured on the cover of the new directory.

DIRECTORIES ARE IN!  The directories have been delivered to advisory teachers for handing out to those children who ordered.  Please check your child’s backpack to see if the directory has made its way home yet.  If you believe you ordered and have not received one, please contact JGMSparents@gmail.com.  If you would like to buy one now, please know that your child may buy one during lunch at the School Store in the cafeteria.  A limited supply of student directories are available there for $10 each on a first come, first serve basis.

CONGRATULATIONS TO STUDENT ARTISTS!  We also congratulate Paris S. (7th Grade), Rachel K. (6th Grade), and Arnav T. (6th Grade) for their awesome art which also in featured in color inside the directory on the back cover.
