Greetings to JGMS Band and families, and current BHS Marching Band Families:
This is the time of year when we begin to put the marching band roster together for next fall. Our marching band has a proud tradition of performance, and we have just come off of two consecutive third place finishes in New England competition. This is a first for us and I’m hoping to keep the ball rolling.
We are graduating about half of the band this year! We need YOU…students, that is, I don’t know if they’ll let parents play in the band. 🙂 .
I am including the parents because we have three events coming up in the next 8 days that I would like to invite you to:
Friday, April 28th: Marching Band New Members Social at the home of the Bridgeman family. 61 Notre Dame Rd. 7-11 pm. Current and New potential members (and their parents) are encouraged to come out to meet folks and just relax and have a good time. Refreshments and fun will be provided.
Tuesday, May 2nd: Annual Fundraiser at Flatbread Company/Bedford. 6-8:30pm. A portion of the proceeds of every flatbread ordered will go to the BHS Marching Band during this time. Eat in, or take out. Please help us defray the cost of uniform parts, equipment, buses, and so much more. If you’re eating in, enjoy some live acoustic tunes provided by… ME! (Hey, we couldn’t get anybody better…)
Thursday, May 4th: Annual Marching Band Open House. This is our more serious informational meeting about the preliminary schedule, what marching band is all about, and our annual Drum Major auditions to determine our student field conductors for next year. 6:30-8:30pm.
The MSPA organized a Sweet Treats hospitality event for the teachers and school personnel at JGMS on Wednesday, 2/8. Thanks to all who answered the call to support our awesome teachers and helped the MSPA.
